In February 2002, for my 16th birthday, my family and I went to the cinema to see ‘A Beautiful Mind’. Each year since then, some (or all) of us have made an effort to continue this tradition of celebrating my birthday at the cinema.
What follows is a record of what we saw each year:
A Beautiful Mind
Still one of my favourite movies ever!
One Hour Photo
Robin Williams plays a great bad guy, but certain scenes not appropriate for family viewing…
The Passion Of The Christ
Amazing portrayal of the final hours before Jesus’ death.
A beautiful story.
Great thriller! Good to see Harrison Ford back.
Stranger Than Fiction
An alright movie, trailer made it look better though…
Good movie, interesting concept.
Good comedy/feel-good movie. A few adult themes.
Edge Of Darkness
Not a bad movie, but thought it would have been better (based on the trailer).
I Am Number Four
There’s a good reason this black & white, silent film won the Oscar for Best Picture. Very well done!
I didn’t enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Not a bad movie, but I guess you need to be more of a history buff than I am to fully appreciate it…
A thrilling movie with, wait for it, non-stop action :) It’s about an air marshal who gets framed for hijacking the flight he’s on and has to find the real hijacker before being arrested himself.
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Nice, feel-good movie and a good sequel to the first one. “There’s no present like the time.”
